Measuring the Force of Gravity in Year 5

By 6 March 2025No Comments

As part of our science lesson learning about forces, 5 Anning have been investigating the effect that gravity has on different objects. They found out the gravity is a non-contact force: we cannot see gravity but can observe its effects.

To measure the force of gravity pulling on these objects, they used a weighing scale to measure its mass, then a newton metre to measure its weight.Ā  Fun fact: Mars has a much weaker gravitational pull than Earth, meaning objects would weigh less on this planet compared to Earth!
