A Wonderful Afternoon

By 21 April 2023No Comments

Before the Easter holidays, our choir were invited to sing at ‘Wombourne Dementia Singing Friends’ on Wednesday 29th March.  The Singing Friends is a group specifically for people who suffer from dementia. They meet each Wednesday afternoon, at Wombourne Village Hall, for singing, socialising and a cup of tea with their carers.

The choir had previously visited the group before Christmas and had entertained them with a variety of Christmas songs.  On Thursday, the choir had practised some new songs to entertain the Singing Friends.  In addition, one of the choir members suggested that we take a card to the group members and so they gave up one of their lunchtimes to make Easter cards for all the Singing Friends and their leaders.  They also took some daffodils to present to them.

The singing, cards and daffodils were all very well received and the children were praised for their thoughtfulness as well as their beautiful singing.  Well done to all the members of the lower school choir.  We certainly hope that meeting up with our friends from Wombourne becomes one of our ‘Proud Traditions’.
