Christmas Cheer with Dementia Singing Friends

By 7 December 2023No Comments

We are so proud that, due to popular demand, our School Choir were once again, invited to sing at ‘Wombourne Dementia Singing Friends’.  The children were asked to start the group’s Christmas festivities on Wednesday 29th November by going along to sing and this has now become one of our ‘Proud Traditions’ at Bramford!

As you may remember, Dementia Singing Friends is specifically for people who suffer from dementia. They meet each Wednesday afternoon, at Wombourne Village Hall for singing, socialising and a cup of tea with their carers. Mrs Moss’ mum is a volunteer at this very worthwhile group.

The choir had been practising a variety of Christmas songs with Mrs Kirby over the last half term and once again, sang beautifully.  The singing friends enjoyed joining in with some of the songs and particular favourites were Hallelujah and Jingle Bell Rock.

The organisers at Dementia Singing Friends congratulated all the children in the choir and told them that they should be very proud of the way they represent their school in the local community.

Bramford staff would like to say a big thank you to the children in the choir too, for not only their dedication and their beautiful singing, but most of all for the way represent Bramford.  You make us very proud!

We would also like to say a big thank you to Wombourne Singing Friends, for inviting us to sing with you and for your generous donations to our school charity project, which is helping local families this Christmas.  Thank you and we look forward to singing with you again in the future.
