Diversity at Bramford

By 28 February 2023March 7th, 2023No Comments
Throughout February, we have been focusing on the inclusivity and diversity of our school. The children have explored the concept of “Family” and how we all have different and diverse families which are all unique, special and all just as important.
This links to our GST “Family” theme 2023, which we will explore further on Friday 3rd March, when Griffins all over the country will celebrate our annual Founders Day.
Year 1 Holiday have been busy creating a mural based on the book, “Pink is for Boys”. To begin with, the children discussed the title and comments included: “Boys can like whatever colour they want”, “I like all colours”, “It’s not illegal!” and “We all wear blue t-shirts at Bramford”.
As you can see from our wonderful photos, our Concentrating Crocodiles and Choosing Chimps worked together, choosing colours and drawing their favourite things. Then they created lots of layers, using a variety of media such as felt tips, chalk, oil pastels and paint. We can’t wait to see how the final mural looks!
